New Years Challenge
Two Thousand Ten

Here's my version of new years resolutions. I had a bunch of ideas and inspiration for this page. I couldn't quite decide at first. So then I just collaged it all together. Plus I wanted to try out this new square punch I bought. And then I ended up making a house. And the squares became windows to the soul.
But what inspired me the most was this silhouette cut out of Fiona that we did at Disneyland. It just had such a nostalgic feel to it. Puts me in a such a pensive and reflective mood. From then, I knew I wanted to do a silhouette of myself. Funny thing is I started with a profile shot but then I wanted to add little more interest to it. Kinda silly. It does make me laugh, though.

New Year Challenge

'Being in the moment' is one of my resolutions that means the most to me. It can be accomplished in everything that I do...for myself, for D and for Joey. The journal on the layout is very simplified...in the envelope continues all the really, personal details of the resolution. In it, I enclosed a letter to D sharing all of my thoughts that revolve around this new outlook.

Supplies: Basic Grey's Origin line. The fabric embellishment that says "loving yourself" originally said "loving you"...I changed it to be more appropriate for the layout. Maya Road envelopes & flowers. Letters: Basic Grey chipboard and Thickers. (Jenny: I'm getting a lot of use of my Thickers collection, ha-ha). XOXO

New Year Challenge

I took this idea from Studio Calico's Stephanie Howell and put my own twist to it. I wanted to do something different than write New Year's resolutions that I would most likely break. Instead I made a list of things I will do and things I won't do. Short and sweet. I took some Pink Paislee ledger paper and just started to stick label stickers wherever I felt like. There is no rhythm or reason to it. Kinda crazy and sporatic - not my style at all but I like how it turned out. The majority of things on my list revolve around the fact that I am way too hard on myself. I do realize that and I want to change. Aren't we our own worst enemies? I'm happy to say that I've already got a head start with getting new makeup with Wena :) The one thing that I was very vague about was "I won't buy what I don't need". The real goal I made with Abby is that I won't buy any other scrapbook related things until May 2010 besides my monthly Studio Calico subscription. Yikes! That's the one thing on the list that I'm afraid I won't be able to keep. Hence - why I was so vague on my layout. Is that cheating? heehee! Thanks for the great challenge Abby! I can't wait to see what everybody else does. xoxo

New Challenge for the New Year!
Goodbye 2009. Hello Twenty-Ten!

Every year (every January), D & I sit down at the dining table and write down our resolutions, goals we want to accomplish for ourselves individually, as a family, as a couple, for D's business, for Joey's education & services... This is something I'm so thankful for that we have in our relationship. It's a reminder of how much we love each other (how much we want to see each other succeed in anything that we do) & how much work it takes...to keep our relationship/family honest and happy.

I have this saying written on my blackboard "Goals in writing are dreams with Deadlines"...it's so true!

So here's the challenge: Write down one (or all) of your resolutions and document it! If you choose one, choose the one that means the most to you.

Ready! Set! Go!
